महान पूर्व भारतीय स्पिनर बिशन सिंह बेदी का 77 वर्ष की आयु में निधन होने से क्रिकेट जगत शोक में डूब गया है। भारत के क्रिकेट इतिहास में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने वाले बेदी ने अपने शानदार करियर के दौरान 67 टेस्ट मैचों में भाग लिया और 266 विकेट लिए।
भारतीय क्रिकेट में एक क्रांति
बेदी भारतीय क्रिकेट के एक प्रकार के वास्तुकार थे। उन्होंने 1966 में अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट में पदार्पण किया और 1979 तक भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया। बेदी को फ्लाइट और स्पिन में महारत हासिल करने, बल्लेबाजों को मात देने के लिए सूक्ष्म विविधताओं का इस्तेमाल करने के लिए जाना जाता था। जब उन्होंने टीम की कप्तानी की तो उनके नेतृत्व ने इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ भारत की ऐतिहासिक 1971 श्रृंखला जीत में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।
