वर्ल्ड चैंपियनशिप ऑफ लीजेंड्स (WCL) 2025 में भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच होने वाला बहुप्रतीक्षित मुकाबला दोनों देशों के बीच चल रहे राजनीतिक तनाव के चलते रद्द कर दिया गया है।
मैच रद्द होने के बाद, सोशल मीडिया पर प्रशंसकों की ज़बरदस्त प्रतिक्रियाएं देखने को मिलीं। कई लोगों ने भारतीय टीम के रुख की खुलकर सराहना की है।
विरोध के चलते मैच रद्द
WCL आयोजकों द्वारा हाल ही में जारी एक बयान में माफ़ी माँगते हुए कहा गया है कि भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच हाल ही में हॉकी और वॉलीबॉल जैसे विभिन्न खेलों में हुए मुकाबलों को देखते हुए उन्हें उम्मीद थी कि यह क्रिकेट मैच भी दुनिया भर के लोगों को खुशी प्रदान करेगा।
हालांकि, मैच से जुड़े भावनात्मक प्रभावों को ध्यान में रखते हुए आयोजकों ने इसे रद्द करने का निर्णय लिया और किसी की भी भावनाओं को ठेस पहुंचाने के लिए माफ़ी मांगी है।
डब्ल्यूसीएल के बयान में कहा गया:
“हाल ही में भारत बनाम पाकिस्तान वॉलीबॉल मैच और दोनों देशों के बीच हुए अन्य खेल मुकाबलों को देखकर हमने WCL में यह मैच जारी रखने का निर्णय लिया था, ताकि दुनिया भर के लोगों को कुछ सुखद यादें दी जा सकें। लेकिन शायद इस प्रक्रिया में हमने कई लोगों की भावनाओं को अनजाने में आहत किया। इसलिए, हमने भारत-पाकिस्तान मुकाबला रद्द करने का फैसला किया है। हम क्षमा चाहते हैं और उम्मीद करते हैं कि लोग समझेंगे कि हमारा उद्देश्य सिर्फ प्रशंसकों के लिए कुछ खुशी के पल लाना था।”
कई भारतीय खिलाड़ियों ने मैच से नाम वापस लिया
इससे पहले, पूर्व भारतीय बल्लेबाज़ शिखर धवन ने पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ इस मुकाबले से अपना नाम वापस ले लिया था। एक सोशल मीडिया पोस्ट में उन्होंने कहा:
“जो कदम 11 मई को लिया, उस पर आज भी कायम हूं। मेरा देश मेरे लिए सब कुछ है, और देश से बढ़कर कुछ नहीं होता।”
इसके अलावा, रिपोर्टों के अनुसार सुरेश रैना, इरफान पठान, यूसुफ पठान और कई अन्य खिलाड़ियों ने भी इस मैच में भाग न लेने का निर्णय लिया। हरभजन सिंह ने भी रविवार को WCL क्लैश से अपना नाम वापस ले लिया है।

WCL should be asked why it scheduled the match with Pakistan when Shikhar Dhawan had already informed the organizers in writing on May 11 that he would not play against Pakistan. Did any other Indian players email or informed them after Dhawan? It seems the match was cancelled…

I don't understand why Shikhar Dhawan even agreed to play with terrorists like Shahid Afridi.
Yuvraj Singh & Harbhajan Singh agreeing to play with Pakistan doesn't shock me tbh….but Shikhar Dhawan was a surprise.
